Size of plant tested: small plant which was fully rooted.
Soil texture: sandy loam with no cover.
When planted: the plant was planted in the ground in August 2000.
Winter protection: no protection.
Microclimate: somewhat warm microclimate, approximately 1 foot off an east facing wall but this area only receives 2hr per sun in November.
Temperature: refer to 2000-2001 winters on this chart
Findings: the plant died very early in the season.

sansevieria_aethiopica-2.jpg (61660 bytes) November 27, 2000 - This photo shows the plant after 12F, 14F, and 19F nights.  It appears dead already, especially to the tough.  The leaves are soft.  We observed no damage after a 19F night.
