November 2000 - This photo is a small first year needle palm seedling. It was germinated in spring and planted in late June. It's located only a few inches off a south facing wall. |

October 1, 2001 - Here's the same seedling a year later. It was burnt to the ground the winter before. As you can see, it only grew one leaf this year. |

December 8, 2002 - Here's the same seedlings one year later. It's now grown 3 full growing seasons (LOL). Boy this palm is a fast grower in our climate! |

March 8, 2003 - Here's the same plant after the brutal winter of 2002-2003 where many plants died. All our banana, calla, albizia, and kniphofia plants did not return after this winter. This seedling did fine. WOW. |
