musa_sp.yunnan.JPG (54196 bytes) August 23, 2000 - This photo shows the banana on August 23, 2000.  It was started from seed in April 2000.
musa_sp.yunnan-2.JPG (45988 bytes) October 29, 2000 - here's the banana after the first night below freezing.  The night low was 31F and windy, it was 100% burnt on the leaves.  This plant was dug up and stored indoors without light from mid November through mid April with no setback.  However it did die in May after a late freeze on May 6 and May 7 when temperatures dropped to 27F and 30F.  The banana was planted in the ground and we were unable to protect the plant since we were out of town. We had 2 planted out and both died after this late freeze.
