itea_yunnanensis-3.jpg (33338 bytes) December 16, 2000 - here's the plant as of December 16,  2000.  The plant appear to be slightly damaged already.  It has seen 5F so far this winter.  We are not very impressed with this so called zone 7 plant.
itea_yunnanensis-4.jpg (16006 bytes) January 21, 2001 - here's the status a few weeks later, notice how the plant is already dead.  Low temperature without snow cover has been 5F so far this winter.  It did die to the ground level, but new shoots did emerge in spring.  The plant is very slow growing, as it only grew 6" or so in 2001.
itea_yunnanensis_2002_sept7.jpg (51914 bytes) September 7, 2002 - Here's the same plant, finally starting to get some size.  It was not damaged during the 2001-2002 winter.
