eucalyptus_neglecta-2.jpg (11292 bytes) December 2, 2000 - This photo shows one of the first plants damaged by the cold.  We had nights down to 12F, 12F, and 14F so far.  Many of the plants have not shown any damage so far.
eucalyptus_neglecta-3.jpg (28878 bytes) December 10, 2000 - This photo shows two separate plants after a night low of 5F.  One plant is showing much damage, while the other plant is doing fine.
eucalyptus_neglecta-4.jpg (50359 bytes) December 29, 2000 - This photo shows the same two plants several weeks later.  Please note December was quite cold with many days not exceeding 32F for high temperatures.  December 25 was very cold with day temperatures only in the teens.  Low to date is still 5F.  Notice the variation in hardiness between the plants.

eucalyptus_neglecta_ruptureredtrunk_2002_jan4r.jpg (73130 bytes) January 4, 2003 - This photo shows the survivor of the 2001-2002 winter.  During the 2002-2003 winter, the trunk ruptured in late December after a long 5F night.  Leaves looked perfect several weeks after the ruptured trunk was first observed.  All leaves were toasted after a -2F night.
