Size of plant tested: 1st year seedling which was 4" tall by November 2000.
Soil texture: sandy loam and covered with 2" pine bark mulch.
When planted: the seedling were planted in the ground in July 2000.
Winter protection: None.
Microclimate: it was planted in an average microclimate.

Findings: the plant died, and did not resprout from the roots.
