Winter protection: was located under a plastic tarp the winter of 1999-2000 and received no protection the winter of 2000-2001. Microclimate: warm microclimate, about 3 ft from south facing wall. Temperature: refer to 1999-2001 winter on this chart Findings: the plant died has survived with no damage at all. |

June 2001 - This photo was taken in early June 2001 when the cactus was in full bloom. The bloom period lasts about 3 to 4 weeks. The cactus survived the 2000-2001 winter with no damage and the cactus was totally unprotected. |
